Who knew the Secret Garden even existed? It’s a little oasis off a busy street in Downtown Montclair. You wouldn’t know it was there unless you had intel ahead of time…which is partly why it makes it so special! (And why it has become one of our favorite places to photograph.)

Stepping into the Secret Garden for the first time is breathtaking. You are surrounded by blooms of all kinds, depending on the season, and a beautiful fountain. Kids can roam around joyfully and parents can relax and take in the serene environment. It’s maintained beautifully, thanks to The Garden Club of Montclair. As photographers, the lighting is outstanding - which elevates the photos we take.

Another main reason we love the Secret Garden is its proximity to the studio…it’s just steps away! We feel like it’s our cherished, local gem, right around the corner.

When families have sessions at the Secret Garden, we often suggest they go out to dinner afterward! Walking around Church Street or downtown Montclair after a session is a perfect way to spend the evening as a family. Plus , it connects you to this vibrant town! So, when you’re thinking about your next session…think about the Secret Garden and making a fun family evening out of it!
